oral-anal brief encounter

4 weeks ago I had a very brief oral-anal encounter with a female (unknown status). I rimmed her perhaps no more than a minute. A condom was used for oral and penetration. 3 weeks later I developed a very mild case of shingles, no bllisters, which is now going away but I have had no other symptoms up to this point. My question should I be worried about infection as shingles is known to be a symptom of early HIV. I've been worried sick with other things in my life separate from this incident which may have triggered the shingles, I don't know. Any insight would be helpful, thank-you

The rimming was zero risk and all the other sexual acts you engaged in were protected therefore HIV is not an issue here.Shingles is not an ARS symptom,it's a very common condition that many people experience. You're safe. All the best.

Appreciate your comments, thank-you Teak, I'm still on the learning curve, it just seemed odd to me to get the shingles when I did that was all, thanks again

Shingles are not HIV specific, you didn't have an HIV exposure.

Hi RainLover71 - looking over your reply once again how is it you can say with such certainty that the brief period of unprotected rimming was of no risk at all? Is it for the same reasoning that Teak wrote of? just wondering, it threw me for a loop getting this small bout of shingles within 3 weeks of this encounter. Thank-you for indulging me.

Saliva contains over a dozen different enzymes and proteins that inhibits HIV transmission your concern should be parasite infection and other disease such as HBV from rimming.

Hi RainLover - thanks so much for your prompt reply, it's just when you get doing the reading you don't know what to think, it was the higher virus concentration in anal mucous that got me the most concerned. Thank-you again for your response.

Appreciate the quick reply Teak, thank-you. I had read that there may be a higher concentration of the virus in anal mucous and that was my major concern, there is always something it seems. Thanks again
