risk / test accuracy?

In February, I had receptive anal sex with a man I met. When he "finished" he had withdrawn and finished "on me"-- and when I asked after seeing the condom on the floor, he said he pulled the condom off when he pulled out, and assured me he had it on the entire time.  (THAT scared me as it was my first time doing anything like this)

4 months after the incident, (with no symptoms) I had an oraquick advance oral fluid test which was negative.

Here it is 10 months after the incident, and while I have no other "symptoms"-- my face seems to be thinner. (I am a slender guy anyway) but it seems my cheeks dont seem as "full" as they used to be.  I am 33 and a smoker, so I'm not sure if this is "normal aging" or what?  I haven't lost any weight at all.

After reading that the oraquick oral tests may only be 85% accurate, I was wondering if I should get tested again?  I know facial wasting or whatever is generally from HIV treatment, but can't HIV cause it on it's own?  Please give me some advice!!  Thank you all and Happy New Year!

You have a conclusive negative test. See your doctor if you are concern it has nothing to do with HIV.

Three months is conclusive and six months is conclusive for people with cancer, abnormally sick people in hospital beds and horrific immune systems. You were fine at three months...

Thank you both. After reading that the oraquick oral test "isn't as accurate as the label claims"-- (false negative report, etc.) I was nervous.  I was being hopeful that at 4 months it would have less a chance of being false negative.

Again, thank you both for such timely responses, and hope you both have a Happy New Year!

It is one of Dr HHH's responses to a question, I will look in my history for the actual article/study they are mentioning. It's evidently fairly new (past 6 months)

False negative results are due to testing to early. To obtain a conclusive test result is is 3 months post exposure.

Alright. That post is just what got my anxieties up.  Thank you for your repeated responses. I will put this to rest now, that the test would have picked it up had I been infected.

Thanks again for your response(s)-- not just to my post, but all the help you provide everyone on this site.  Have a happy, healthy, and safe new year!
