taking PrEP

Does taking PrEP worth it? I have seen it has negative long term effects(liver damage).
is it worth to use it for your whole life? or is it just for short term use for example one year of usage?
if someone hook up and have casual sex for his whole life and take PrEP everytime he may prevent HIV but cause severe liver damage, what is the solution in this case?

will short term use of 1 year cause a liver damage?

It is true that all current treatments for HIV are liver toxic.  They also have other adverse consequences.  HIV, if left untreated, is worse.  Most medication is toxic.  The balance is whether the benefit outweighs the harm, and how well proven the benefit and the harm are.  With HIV, these questions are answered.  If you choose to have sex without protection with HIV positive people, you are taking a known risk that is also toxic.

You need to discuss your concerns with a qualified doctor. Advice about taking prescription medication should not be sought in online forums, as the potential for side effects is also dependent on your personal medical history, and we are NOT doctors.
