test in one week after exposure

Hi, Teak and LIZZIE LOU,
If I have the test one week after the HIV exposure, and If the result is negative, how reliable probably is the test? does it have 80% to 90% reliability? I haven't had a test. I know only 6 months is conclusive. but I really can't wait any more. I just want go to have a test tomorrow (one week after the exposure), thus, I can relax a bit. Please try your best to answer my question. Thank you both very much in advance.

A test one week after exposure will prove nothing. A test at six weeks is a good indicator of what your status is and a 13 week will be considered conclusive. Trust me a one week test will not make you feel better and this is from personal experience. What was your exposure by the way?

you had no risk
a test at one week is meaningless
3 months (NOT 6) is conclusive
