this is the most uninformed forum

Other than a few forum posters, like for example teak, no one else knows what they are talking about on this fourm! everyone gets their information from the internet, which is the absolute worse source of information! If you are a worried well like myself GET OFF THIS FORUM. I to spent too many hours listening to people who read HIV articles and studies on the illinformed INTERNET and think they know everything. If you have a question or worry ask in the doctor forum. the body is also a good place to get answers as well as aidsmeds. Call the CDC is you have a specific question. Though they do have a CYA attitude they give you the info as it is. Mostly everyone by 3 months, very RARE cases take 6. THATS IT! Dont listen to people claiming 12 or whatever because its b.s. and even the so called documented cases are sketchy and not clearly proven. And all these so called cases involve other factors anyway ie-depleted immune systems, PEP.  Do your self a favor and stay away from this forum it is dangerous and full of nerotics that dont know jack.

It's good that people who are not knowledgable are asking questions. If only the questions in some cases were pre risk rather than post risk.

Oh and I think most people have the sense not to take what they read on forums too literally and would check it against scholarly peer reviewed articles. Access to British Medical Journals for instance requirees no subscription, PubMed, Medline give free abstracts....

1) I tried to speak with the Doctors or even nurses at the GU clinic. They are not interested until 12 weeks. They made an appointment at 8 but they wouldn't go into dicussion about my weight loss.

2)  I called NHS 24 regarding weight loss. they drew a blank, told me to look on the web.

3) I called both National AIDS Hotline and Terrence Higgins Trust for advice and was  told weight loss is not until much later.

4) If I have cancer or something I'm gong to be well cheesed off after leaving it 12 weeks to get seen to.

5) It's normally a 2 week wait for an appointment with my G.P. i don't think he is going into differential diagnoses until tthe 12 weeks.

6) There are in some people's towns no support places available.

7) Some people are in situations where it is difficult to confide in anyone they know.

Well now this is an open fourm for individuals to ask questions or have concerns. Your right people should talk to their health care provider about HIV and STDs. If you have notice some poeple post their test results and ask for people on here to interupt those results, those individuals are told to speak to there doctor about it. Some people that come to this fourm have no clue how HIV is transmitted, whats risky whats not. You'll aslo see others here that test and test and obesse about HIV this fourm gives them comfort and an outlet to express their fears. Medhelp polices these fourms.
