unprotected sex+PEP(48hrs left)
I am a little freaked out right now, I have met this girl for about a month now, we had sex 3 time(protected), and last nite during the moment we had sex unprotected for about 1-3 minutes, then I realize that there was some blood at the end of my penis, her period has ended this past saturday, the blood was kinda thick and ended up around my penis. No blood was on the head of my penis and i aslo checked the inside of my holes in which i didnt see any trace of blood either, the top hole was completely close but the bottom hole was a little bit open, and ask her if she is clean and she told me she got tested about a 1.5yr ago and had been with her ex BF until 3months ago(I know it shouldnt even matter). I went to my university HIV department and told them what happen and they say that PEP is not warranted since she is not confirm positive and the exposure was not long and there was no trace of blood on the head of my penis;but what if the blood made it way to the hole first then to the shaft of my penis during intercourse but advise to get tested in 6weeks or get her to test to find out her status. The doc told me that my risk was still low.Anyone agree with this, what should I do? What are the chances of me catching HIV if she is really positive? She doesnt inject drugs from what she told me, she is very active and play volleyball, i know those assumptions are useless.Any thoughts since I have about 48 hrs left to get PEP?PLease help
Why are you posting here instead of listening to your doctor? PEP is not warranted in your situation.

If you had unprotected vaginal sex with someone of unknown status, you are at risk if she has HIV.
Your risk is lower since it is more diffecult to transmit from female to male and the incident is brief. PEP is not recommended and not necessary.
Like your doctor sgueested, test at 6 weeks. If you test negative the likelihood that will change by 12 weeks (conclusive result) is remote.

Did you try urinating directly after? I've read that this is believed to have some measure of impact. although it sounds more like urban legend to me i've seen it stated here and there. Your risk factors seem really low based on your partner-I'm assuming she was a fellow student as well, so correct me if I'm wrong. Even so, i would'nt assume she is hiv+, but i would test at the three month mark because what you have done is defined as dipping-some people have been known to test positive from certain situations like this when there partner was positive at the time of the occurance. I doubt you at any risk, low risk at best because you were unprotected, unless your partner had any prior factors.

This was stated as one of those things someone can due if there in the situation, it's does'nt hurt anyone to do it, it's not stated as an absolute, just and option. The source says there is no real way of knowing for certain, but just as the mouth is believed to offer certain conditions which make transmission highly unlikely, urinating is thought to be of some benefit-it's clearing the urethra. Of course there is no way this is meant to be offered as some sort of sure fired measure, it's been recommended that people urinate after sexual activities have occurred.
NO, there is no where it says that at all and no it would not be beneficial in the least for clearing the urethra.
actually she is a teacher at the university where i work at. I pee afterwards, but I dont think it would make a difference, but I know for sure that there was no trace of blood on the head or in the hole. I will definitely test at 6 weeks to calm my fears, I have talked to her today and she say she will get tested to calm me down, dunno when she will do it but hopefully soon, she promess me that her last sexual act was like 3 months ago with her ex, so still could be in the window; who knows? Hopefully she will test negative so i can just relax for a minute and it will be my turn in 6 weeks.

You should listen to your doctor. As he said, your risk was close to zero, don't bother with PEP.
She just got tested yesterday and told me that it was negative, she got tested at planned parenthood. I hope she didnt lie to me, but i dont see why she would have, we talked and she seems sincere about it but who knows; i thought that would calm me down but not really. I think im driving myself crazy here, i keep on worrying about ARS and all the symptoms that follows it, scare ******** rite now!!! I drink a ton of water and my mouth is dry like a desert, feel like im getting sick but no fever and feel fine, always feeling warm, numbness in my hands, dream that i was positive, my shirt is soaking wet in morning, my heart wont stop beating fast, constantly thinking about hiv, feel like i have the virus replicating itself inside of me rite now,wtf!!! I asked her numerous time if she was poz after the incident, so i can get PEP on time and she said no; if she was why would she not tell me so i can get PEP, i can not think of people being that cruel. Now i got to wait for another 5 weeks!!!
You probably aren't going to have sex with this nice lady again. I think you should see a psychiatrist for your irrational phobia of HIV.
You dont have to wait, beocuse you dont need a test, if she tested negative 3 months after the last time she had sex before having it with you, it conlcusive to her, and to you to, becouse you cannot get hiv if the other partner doesnt has it, please visit a therapist to calm and deal with the HIV fobia you have.
