I do not know the answer to that questions.  I'm sure you can Google it.  But the only test that matters was yours, Take a DUO test at 28 days and expect a negative.

ok a bit of hope, i guess?? i somehow, out of no where got to see him again. when i a decent way i asked him about her HIV status, he said that he is neg and had his test in thailand during his brest implantation surgery. he showed me some photographs during his stay in hospital too, and from the setup of hospital, it looked like a better hospital.

is it mandatory in thailand to have HIV test during breast implantation surgery?? can anyone confirm it??

As with any virus, once you get it, it remains in your system forever.  A few people can control it naturally, but a vast majority need medicine to control the virus.

I do not know if I answered your question, if I didn't, try rephrasing it.

is it possible that you body can fight off and destroy even if small number of HIV virus get into you system just like in case of other diseases.

a last question,

dose the minimal duration of exposure minimize risk??? should i consider PEP, as i am still within the 72 hours time line. as i am from the third world where there is no STD counseling facilities so i am relying on online infos. even my doc is a general physician not a infectious disease specialist. and how bad are the PEP effects, can it render me unable to appear for my exams? (i am having my finals)

It's a risk, not going into high, low as in your case it is unknown.

hey, i found dr H post saying its almost impossible for HIV to transmit with a brief exposure. i understand risk is a risk, but how gud are my odds. P.S i am having my finals so i decided not to start PEP fearing for its side effects and missing my exams

Doctors will be the one who will advice you on PEP. And if the doctor you went to does not feel. It is up to you if you want to follow his advice. The best thing we can tell you is have a duo test at 28 days. And that is all.

i dont want to use some strong medication just for the sake of my anxiety, i guess i can handle my anxiety untill DUO test, even though if u (as an expert) consider PEP in my case, i'll go see a new doc and get PEP. since u and my doc have not considered PEP in my case i guess i'll be better without it and hope for the best. and i bet u definitely recommend testing.

PEP would not usually be given out in your situation, due to your low level risk.  However, if you can find a doctor and express your anxiety to them, I am sure they will help you out.
