I sustained a minor concussion three weeks ago, and though my logical and linguistic faculties seemed to return to normal within a couple days, I have had persistent feelings of pressure and weakness in my head, though these have markedly diminished within the past week. At present, I have recovered enough that I am able to use the computer (with the monitor at low brightness) for simple tasks like reading and writing emails. I have always had a hard time falling asleep, and before the accident I semi-regularly used a small amount of marijuana (a couple “hits” through a vaporizer) at bedtime to alleviate the insomnia. I haven’t used drugs or alcohol since my injury, but as of this past week, my insomnia has once again made it difficult to sleep. I have tried Melatonin suppliments, herbal tea, and meditation, but none of these has been particularly helpful. I would prefer not to try stronger sleeping pills. My question: is a similar regimen likely to injure my brain/slow my recovery, or would it be reasonably safe at this point to try using a small amount of marijuana before bed?
