Thank you guys for you comments!! Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving, gained lots of weight, and had plents of pecan and pumpkin pies!! LOL I myself love the turkey and dressing with gravy!! YUM. But my fave this year was the broccoli cheese casserole and jambalaya!
I was very happy to learn this year how great and easy vegetarian stuffing is. It was so much less stress to leave out the turkey, I really didn't miss it at all!
Turkey with gravy over rice...I love Thanksgiving just for the turkey. Now I'm hungry.
Homemade mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. :-)
mine is my mom's broccoli casserole!!! :)
I voted for the stuffing...even though my favorite part is the monicotti that we have before the turkey meal! if you can't tell, I'm Italian!
I'm with you, Swampy. I enjoy the left-overs more than the actual Thanksgiving meal.
Back before Swampy was a vegetarian, his favorite Thanksgiving dish was a turkey sandwich made the day after.
Oh... yes... Pecan Pie... AND a great bacon onion casserole !!! I could do just stuffing, onion casserole, and Pecan Pie and be happy!!
You forgot the pumpkin pies! My 20 year old son looks forward to that all year! Luv that pumpkin pie!
By the way, my favorite place for recipes is Cookinglight.com and Cooking Light magazine subscription - they always have a special feature each month on a really bad (as far as health goes) dessert or meal that they have trimmed down that tastes just as good with less calories.
Where's the choice for dessert? :-) From the list I picked turkey, since it's not very often that we make/eat it, but the good news I got at my doctor's appointment today is that I need to gain weight - so I will be having extra pecan and pumpkin pie this year! Woo hoo!! :-) Hopefully extra weight will make my body want to finally carry babies. :-)
