SSHL Will The Balance Ever Come Back

June 20-2016 I was hit with this medical problem, Had the tests from MRI to cats scan and ruled out all the tumor and stroke. They then figured this SSHL. lost 100 % hearing in right ear and the balance trouble made even walking impossible. Had the steroid treatment and came back home to my farm.one month later I saw the surgeon again and had all the tests done again. The hearing and balance he told me is not coming back and the little difference in balance id due to my body making adjustments to cope. Two month later and I still can barely walk and my little farm does not make enough to hire anyone else but myself. If this is as good as it gets I think the depression caused from this illness will be worse.Has anyone ever had any help  with the balance part of this be it  anything that I can run by my doctor

This may not help, but I lost all balance in one ear after an operation in that ear. It took about a month or so for my balance to come back but it did. My ENT told me that you only need one ear for balance.  I play tennis and have no balance issues at all with just one ear for balance. if you r having balance issues still, I would ask an ENT if the ear with SSHL could be eliminated from balance contribution. Sounds extreme, but worth asking.
