SSHL recovery timeframe

at what point does a person with diagnosed SSHL, who has already been treated with oral steroids and tympanic injections of steroids, give up hope of experiencing any further hearing improvement?

May I ask how bad your hearing loss was to begin with? Did you have audiometry taken initially?
Thanks in advance :)

I'm not sure it seems like you are just rolling the dice with intertympanic injections?  I've heard of one patient who after injections went completely deaf and had permanent dizziness/balance damage

btw what is the difficulty concentrating?  I noticed this too, is this some sort of brain damage?  it's kind of distressing to me.

I wouldn't go with Cochlear since this completely destroys the middle ear and I have a friend who is extremely unhappy and damaged by the implants.

I also had this terrible machine sound or distortion in my right ear.  I took the high dose prednisone for a month and regained some speech comprehension but not 100%.

I've heard that aldosterone helps.  can florinef, kortinefff be a substitute for that?

are the injections safe?  I heard of one patient who went deaf and had permanent dizziness/balance damage because of tympanic injections

I started taking insulin because of the high dose prednisone and brain fog, I don't know if it is safe to do that
