Anormal ECG!

Hello Dr. Kirksey,

I am 38 year female with no history of heart problems. I am mother of 2 kids.
I had just went for some regular checkup and Dr. made a requisition for blood tests and ECG test was also included. My other tests were normal but ECG report came abnormal.

My ECG report says--slight high-lateral reploarization disturbance, consider ischemia, LV overload or aspecific change;  slight inferior reploarization disturbance, consider ischemia, LV overload or aspecific change; long QT interval, consider hypocalcemia or quinidin-like drug, otherwise grossly normal.

I have been referred to a cardiologist, but it will take time. I am scared for now, please help.

Thank you

Hello and hope you are doing well.

The repolarization disturbance could be indicative of ischemia. Next a ECHO will help to rule out any structural abnormalities like ASD. If echocardiography is normal and you have no other complaints like palpitations or chest pain, you can stop worrying about the EKG which is a normal variant. So, don't worry and consult your cardiologist to clear doubts.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
