Any advice or guidance on SVT Ablation??

Hello! I went in for my SVT catheter ablation two days ago (6/21/16) and did not get what I thought I would out of it. I have been battling sever irregular heartbeat & intense palpitations since I was 13 years old, I am 21 now. They used to come and go & I noticed they usually coincided with my period/hormonal moments as a young adolescent. Over the last 2 months or so, I noticed my palpitations were getting more frequent, more irregular, longer in duration and more painful. I brought this up to my PCP and he ordered all of the normal tests (holter monitor, EKG & Echocardiogram, which have been no stranger to me in the past). Of course, nothing shows up except on the holter finally. I was referred to a new cardiologist & they immediately diagnosed me with SVT & scheduled the ablation. Finally I thought this would be fixed. I went to the hospital & got prepped for the procedure, my nerves were crazy but I was much more calm than I had imagined. The doctor assisting with my cardiologist in the procedure came and spoke with me, which made me feel much better. The prep is so easy for this procedure & I felt very at peace with it finally. They told me before I went in that it would be about 2.5 hours in the room & 3 hours in recovery to ensure I properly clotted from the catheter incision or so & I would be on general anesthetics and would not feel anything. They also told me they were convinced I had the form of SVT found in the AV node along with a deformity called atrial fibrillation. Eventually I went in for the procedure, got prepped and the next thing I know I am out cold, which I has not expected. I woke up eventually to find out that I was basically mis-diagnosed & did not need the ablation. Apparently, due to them 3D mapping my heart and trying to initiate my palpitations, they found the electric wiring of my heart was perfectly fine & I had a normal person's heart. I was told in the end that sometimes young people have a rapid heart beat & they grow out of it as they get older. This has been extremely frustrating! My heart has gotten worse as I have gotten older, so I simply cannot wrap my head around this. I wanted to share my experience to see if anyone has gone through something similar or anything of that sort. I am now sitting here recovering from a procedure I feel I did not need. The procedure itself is simple & easy. It really is not anything to worry about. I know this may not be of any consolation, but if it went as planned, I would have been very happy with everything. Unfortunately, my heart just does not want to cooperate. The area they enter with the catheter is sore but barely noticeable, so do not worry about that either!

If anyone has any advice or words of wisdom, I would love to hear from you! Thanks for listening to my rant. :)
