CHF?

I am a 60 yr old w/f with type 2 diabetes, degenerative osteo-arthritis, and fibromyalgia. I have an appt with a cardiologist on Oct 11. I have been experiencing rapid heart rate, extreme fatigue just climbing stairs, shortness of breath. Dizzyness. Chest pain sometimes when I bend over, etc.I layed down this afternoon on my left side, and got immediate chest pain and rapid heart rate. I quit smoking one week ago. I have had CRP levels over 8 at times. This morning my hands and feet are very swollen. My feet look like the pillsbury dough boys. Very puffy. And my legs are cold up to the knees, and hurt. Several years ago was hospitalized for rapid heart rate, and the EKG showed slight enlargement of the right atrium. My question is this.do I need to go to ER, or can this wait another 11 days to see the cardologist. I live in a very small town, and the specialist comes from another town hour and a half away. I don't want to over react, just wanted someone's opinion. My Dad passed away from a massive heart attack at age 83. The funny thing is my blood pressure usually runs about 110/63. I'm also overeight. Any insights would be appreciated.

As John said, I would also say that ,yes go to the ER.!! I had a similar situation, I had edema ,was very tachycardic years ago on Dec 18 I felt like hell, my appointment was on Jan 10, only one test was on Dec19,the lung test, I was coughing much, went to the ER...spent Christmas in the Hospital. They did all what I needed. Small hospital , for the CAT they transfered me. I was home by New Year's Eve .My life was saved.
