CHR & RESPORATORY FAILURE

I have a friend she is 86.  She has Congestive Heart Failure and chronic hypercapnic respiratory failure..  Her heart is pumping at 20%.
She is on oxygen all day and has to sleep with a mask at night for oxygen.  She is also having seizures, high blood pressure.  What is the family looking at.  Can she recover.  How much time and what can we do to make her comfortable.

Hi there. Firstly im not a doctor. You need to make a list of questions and concerns you have for her welfare and care. To be honest it is obviously pretty serious and her doctor would have all the test results and first hands experience, so they are best placed to advise you  Bring your list and go to see the consultant. Hopefully they can put your mind at rest and help you plan for her future care. The EF of 20% is quite low, but not the worst ever level. If they can stabilise things hopefully the situation will improve a little. Anyway best to try make her as comfortable as possible for now and keep her spirits up. God bless
