I was diagnosed with diastolic dysfunction grade 2 more than 2 years ago. I have been involved with a strength training circuit training program the last year and a half. I have noticed that I am having increasing SOB between exercises and have to sit crunch ed over to catch my breath. A few hours after class I also feel totally wiped out and can't do anything but rest. This also happens if I try to do any high intensity activity so I try to stay away from real high intensity circuits. My question is am I hurting myself with this type of activity and should I ask my cardiologist for a repeat echo to see if the diastolic function has worsened. By the way I also have a pacemaker (I have actually had 6 pacemakers so far since the age of 28 - I am now 61 and have also broken 3 lead wires in the past)
