what are all these medicines for CAD - AWMI, S/P CAG-SVD, S/P PTCA stent to CAD

Hi. My father age 55 years had been kept stent for recent chest pain, that was the first time and he is sugar patient too. Now everything is fine and he has been moving for monthly check-ups for 3 months. In the 4th month, My father concerned about the medicines list, as doctor wrote too many medicines. My father's concern is, after following all prescriptions also why the medicine list has gone big.

My father is already started using below medicines after 2 days of a stent. which includes sugar medicines also.

Ecosprin 150mg, Clopitab 75mg, Tazloc 40mg, Tonact 10mg, Diamicron - XR 60mg, cetaPin - XR 1000mg, volibo 0.2mg.

Now Doctor has come up with new medicine list apart from above, which is shown below and my father should use both above and below medicines too. Please, I would like to know what these medicines are for and are they mandatory to use ? please provide with a suggestion or I should go to another doctor for better knowledge.

Hi there, it must be a stressful time with all this going on. Firstly, Im not a doctor, but will offer any help i can.
Your information may be a little mixed up?

Well its hard to work out the info., but this is my guess based on the above.
He is type 2 diabetic and 3 of the tablets are for Diabetes control. These are Volibo (Metformin), Cetapin,& Diamicron.
The Tonact is a Statin for colesterol. This is standard procedure. Tasloc is a heart med to relax the blood vessels and it also lowers blood pressure.
Ecosprin is asprin and Clopitab is clopidogrel. Both of these are meds ALWAYS prescribed post stent. The Clopitab is often for a year while the asprin is forever!
Both of these prevent  clots after stents and must be taken.

The other things you mention i will try and deciphre as best i can. I think AWMI is a recent heart attack, of the anterior wall of the heart. Nearly always MI stands for Heart attack. This causes damage to the heart muscle. (The less damage the better for the patient)
SVD may be single vessel (Artery) disease .
CAD is coronary artery disease. This is the term used to describe clogged arteries , one of which he has had stented.
He has a number of issues, so the doctors will monitor him carefully. My advice is that he should definitely keep taking his meds. They have been prescribed by medical experts who have all his history and medical information.

You can always get a second opinion of course, but maybe you should write a list and go to the doctor and ask all your questions.
Ask is it single vessel disease and was this fixed with the stent he has had?
Blood pressure control is very very important give the diabetes and heart issues combined.
Hope this helps in some way? Keep us posted.
