Enlarged Heart

Can stress and anxiety cause an enlarged heart?
And if so, can this be mistaken for acute pericarditis?

well when you see the cardiologist, mention your idea about pericarditis, that way there can be no misinterpretation. Good luck and I hope it all goes well.

It was not a cardiologist, I guess I should have specified that it was a general practitioner.  I haven't seen the cardiologist yet.  I have an appointment scheduled though.  It's just that I have been feeling this way for a long time and according to the doctor I seen pericarditis usually last less then 6 weeks.

Thank you for answering.

I guess its like asking if a mechanic would know the difference between a flat tyre and a blowing exhaust. Any cardiologist would know the difference and not confuse one with the other :)
Yes anxiety can easily cause an enlarged heart but it takes time.
