Familial Hypercholesterolemia

Hello,
We are a group of high school students researching familial hypercholesterolemia for a genetic counselor project. Our purpose is to investigate this disease and find information used to counsel couples who may have this disease state. We are hoping that you would please answer the following questions:

If a person starts to have heart attacks after the age of 40 because of FH, what can be done specifically to prevent this? What should the family of this person know about in order to prevents further complications?

Thank you for your precious time!

- students from Archbishop Mitty High School
