If your condition is not treated, the left ventricle will continue to increase in size and at some point due to the enlargement the left ventricle will have reduced contractility and fail to pump adequately to meet the system's demand for oxygenated blood. The failure will back up oxygenated into the lungs and fluids will leak into the lung tissues causing pulmonary edema and breathing difficulties. Also, with an enlarged heart there can be an arrhythmia (irregular heart beat) and cardiac arrest.
Medication can be a diuretic to help remove the excessive fluids, med to increase contractility, med to help keep the heart pumping with regular heartbeats, etc.
