Heart Echo

I have a simple, or at least should I say I hope I have a simple question. My Husband went in for a Heart Echo on April 4th, 2011. It is now April 20,2011 and we still have not heard any results from his tests. The Dr. Also had him wear a heart monitor and he took it back last Wednesday, which was April 13th, 2011. I just wanted to know how long it usually took to get the results back for the tests. The Hospital told me that it could take up to 2 weeks, but it has already been 16 days. His heart has been stopping, and then slowly starting to catch a beat back. I am very worried about him, but the hospital acts as if it is no concern. I have been patient, but how much longer do I need to sit and worry about him when they could ease my mind at any time. Please, can someone answer me.
   Thank you very much,
            Amanda

I called them earlier today and they were suppose to have gotten back with me, but that was at 10 am. It is now 5:19 pm and still no word from them. I am going to continue trying to get ahold of them and if I do not receive an answer by tomorrow then I am going to pay them a personal visit.

I believe it is due to his insurace, he doesn't have any and they didn't treat him like a valuable patient. Thanks for your guys help. :) I appreciate it.

first off, this is based off my and my wife expearnce,

I have had quite a few echo, at least one every year if not more for the last 9 years. only once did I have to wait more then a day, and that because the doctor was not feeling well and went home after he orded my test.  My doctors usualy got back to me with the results within 15min to 30min

As for the Holter, only wore one of those a few times.  but usualy got my results at my next appointment... unless there was something major come up, in that case it was within 36 hours of dropping off the device that I was called and ask to come in the next day.

as for my wife... with different insurance,  during her last pregnacy she was getting disssssy and fanting,  so they order a EKG, Echo, and Holter.  after her calling for two weeks they got the EKG,  so they said she needed to go for a Echo.  she told them she did a echo and a holter, they looked into it, called her back almost two weeks later and said they show no records of it. so she needed to go for another echo and holter.   so she did,  next appoint she could get was like 5 weeks away. she took it, doctor went over the echo and said she needed to do a holter, she said she did twise..  well needelss to say after 6 months of BS chaned her to my insurance and my doctors..  you get what you pay for.. so keep after them to.

You should call his doctor.  Usually if there any danger signs from an echo/Holter "they" would notify you asap.  Your concern is legitimate and call for information.
