Heart Rate

I am 25
5'10
190lbs
fairly good shape

So basically I've had an echo done, ekg, and seen a cardiologist and my heart is normal structurally, but when I do minimal exercise such as walking my heart rate spikes up to 140 and stays at that rate. if I attempt to jog even for 30 seconds my heart rate spikes up to 160-170 and anything over 2 min and i reach 190 beats per minute.

At rest my heart rate and blood pressure are perfectly normal, and I know for a fact that my heart rate has not always been like this because just 1.5 years ago it would take a 15-20 min jog to reach the 160bpm mark. I am much more out of shape now, but I cannot attribute this kind of heart rate to just my conditioning. does anyone have any ideas on what it could be. if it's not my heart could it be hormonal? or adrenal related?

I am a 15 yr. old female with a very similar problem. I am in the process of trying to get some answers but getting the run around because it doesn't happen unless I'm excercising. Curious as to what kind of answers you get.

I have something similar. I'm 28 years old and was initially able to run up to 7 miles a day, in very hot and cold weather. All of sudden two years ago I was on a routine run and my heart rate would not come down normal levels. The card. did a full work up,(multiple ECG, Holter, event monitor, stress test, Echocardiogram, and a CT scan) and found nothing! I'm interested to know what your cardiologist says, as mine appear to be clueless as to what's going on with me. Also, I'm 5'8 168, with a normal blood pressure so I'm in dark as well. Good luck man.

Cardiologist doesn't think it's inappropriate sinus tach. I am being referred to another cardiologist that specializes in heart rate, but it might take a while to see him. Any other thoughts?

I would suggest that you speak more to your cardiologist. You may have inappropriate sinus tachycardia. Taking a beta blocker may help.

I forgot to add that it also takes my heart a much much longer time period to recover. in fact if I were to jog for 3 min and get my heart rate up to 190 it would take almost 30 min for it to come back down below 100.... Oh and I've also had a full body scan and there are no blockages.
