Is my echo normal?

I was just wondering if these results are normal or if I should have a cardiologist take a look at it. Had an echo done to determine my shortness of breath. Results are: Trace reguritation in Mitral,Tricuspid and Pulmonic valves. (A heart murmur was detected three years ago). Aortic valve normal. Also noted, was Intra atrail septal anuerysm. Mitral valve leaflet thickening is also noted.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for your input. I am still waiting to hear from my primary doctor, but it puts my mind at ease. Now if only they can figure out what is causing my shortness of breath.....
Enjoy your 4th of July!

An atrial anuerysm (septum) is a tissue weak spot of the atrial septum (wall that separates the two upper chambers).  That may or may not be a problem depending on the severity and progression if any. The danger is that the anuerysm could rupture and some blood would flow from the left atrium to the right atrium rather than pumped into circulation.

Mitral valve leaflet calcification is a condition that prevents the leaflets from tightly closing over the valve opening and some blood leaks back into the upper chamber.  The leakage of all valves are trivial and that condition is considered medically insigificant...seldom progresses and no symptoms.
