LBBB heritage

Hey All... I am 51 yr old female. I have always had a fast heart rate and palpitations. I had an EKG at 13yrs old. I was diagnosed with an LBBB around 7 years ago. The doctors think I was horned with it. Sometimes when I laugh I get light headed.
Later my Mom was diagnosed with an LBBB. She is 77 years old.
This week my 55 year old sister was having chest pains so we took her to ER. After many test they stated she has an LBBB.
Since all 3 of us have an LBBB are they genetic?
My family doctor states a LBBB is nothing and I shouldn’t worry about it?!?
Not sure what to think?!??

There seems to be a type of BBB that is genetic -

BBB are common, though, so it could be coincidence.

In itself, an LBBB can be harmless. If you are having symptoms, it can be part of a bigger problem. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/bundle-branch-block/symptoms-causes/syc-20370514

I would ask for a referral to a cardiologist, if for no other reason than an evaluation given your symptoms and what your mom and sister have gone through.

If a cardiologist hasn't ever evaluated your elevated heart rate and palpitations, which could be nothing serious at all, or could indicate something else, then you should see one.

I think you should see a second opinion.
