Palpatations

Why do I get palpatations when I get up to visit the bathroom at night, when I have been asleep, they can go on for sometime!

I don't know, but I'm the opposite. I can be fine and they lay down and I start skipping and pausing. Cardiologist just put me on Cumadin.

Do they think you have afib or a clotting disorder?
Well, if you're talking to me, the skipping and pausing of the heart causes the blood flow to pause and stop also. In doing this blood clots can form and can travel through system causing heart attack, strokes and or death. That's why I've been on either Plavix or Cumadin the last 12 years.
Yes, afib and flutter can cause clots but as a nurse I find the Coumadin choice odd unless the clots are coming from deep veins.
I guess when you blood flow stops a clot could form anywhere from head to toe in the body.
Well it never fully stops, I mean I hope not lol.  But slows yeah... In afib or a flutter it clots more from like crappy contractions,  almost like poorly whipping batter lol.  Another example of did medication choices for clotting are arteries and veins.  Aspirin great for arteries, notmso much for venous clots.

There are so many reasons.  Have you been evaluated by cardio?.

yes, under a cardiologist
If they said you heart is fine and you trust them... Then you could have POTS.  Especially if it happens when you have been laying a long time and then stand up.
I have a weak left ventricle, my aortic root is enlarged.
And I can't believe your cardiologist hasn't placed you on blood thinners for the skips and pauses.
Why is it weak?  Is there high afterload from aortic root enlargment?  Anyone discuss surgery options?
No discussion about surgery and he isnt seeing me until about 10 months, just told to get fit.
Also there is cardiomyopathy in the family, my dad had dilated cardiac myopathy and had a transplant, my dad also had it but didnt have a transplant.
Wow,  you need a new doc ASAP!!!
It was my daughter that had the transplant not my dad.
