32 yr old with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopahty, please help...

My husband has just been diognosed with Idiopathic Dilated Cardiomyopathy. He also has a Left bundle branch block. He is not symptomatic at all (no tiredness, no shortness of breath, no pains) apart from on monday night having had chest pain which made him go get checked out.  They have dome ECG, stress test, and Echo and a angiogram.  All ateries are clear,  he has an enlarged left ventricle and his ejection fraction is 30%.  He has been started on BETA blockers and Ace inhibitors.  He is a very fit and strong man and has a very active job as a logger.  They have told us that he cannot do his job for 3 months and they are hoping that his heart can remedy itself within this time as they are assuming a virus has affected him.  We have 6 young children and another one due in April,  obviously we are dealing with shock and disbelief and would love to hear some good stories.
If this has been going on for awhile how good are the chances of it healing over time?
If it does heal will he ever be able to go back to his job?
If it does remedy itself will he ever be able to come off the medications or are they now for life?
Are there any natural remedies we can use to help at this time?
Please any advice is welcome
Thanks

I am not a doctor, but I think you have every reason to be optimistic he will return to normal.  Not knowing what caused his illness is scary.  All you have to do is follow doctors orders and believe he will be ok. Let him rest, don't add extra pressure with worry.
Take one day, one moment at a time.  Treasure your life and be happy.
