Hello and welcome to MedHelp's forums.  Have you given the doctor a call who prescribed the medication?  You are taking your blood pressure at home?  Do you do this regularly so you can note changes?  Here is the side effect profile of Ranexa. https://www.rxlist.com/ranexa-side-effects-drug-center.htm#overview.  They do list slow, fast or irregular heartbeat as potential side effects but that is a bit different than high blood pressure. Blood pressure dropping is a very rare side effect happening less than 1 percent of the time.  When you say you are new to this diagnosis, are you speaking of angina that the ranexa is prescribed for or high blood pressure?  Please let your doctor know about this development and update us soon.
