Sternal Wire Removal

I had my first surgery at 2 yrs old.  I am now 30 yrs old.  I have had constant daily pain in my sternum related to my wires.    I am wondering have any of you had the wires removed.  And if so would you do it again or just live with the everyday pain.   Thanks Christina

How do you know it is associated with the wires?  Sometime the sternum doesn't properly heal and that can cause the pain.  There are individuals that have posted stating an exposed wire is causing some pain and the wires are removed.  See your doctor, you shouldn't be subjected to pain if the pain can be successfully treated.
