Third stent

Hi everyone.  My fathers doctor called him and told him that he has another blocked artery and he wants him to get another stent put in, in 2 weeks. but the same doctor said that its not a main artery and if it were to collapse that his heart would find a way to bypass it. my dad barely realized that putting a stent in is actually more dangerous than he thought. His other doctor said that he wanted him to go to cardiac rehab for a month and a few weeks later get the stent put in. what are your opinions out there. please help us. remember this is my fathers life hes really scared and so am I. thank you

So he wants your Father to attend rehab to see if exercise regimes will encourage collateral vessel growth. It CAN sometimes work, but unless he keeps up the exercises long term, they will very likely close up again. I have no idea where your Father obtained his information about stenting, but the risks are very low for intervention. I have had 10 now and 9 angiograms, I am feeling great. Do you know which vessel the blockage is in? If they consider the risks for stenting too high, then they will usually recommend bypass surgery. What particular difficulties have they predicted with this stent if it goes ahead?
