I quit drinking anything that contains caffeine:coffe, tea, pepsi, mtdew etc.But chocolate
is just a source of sugar -it is a common misconception
among people to say that sugar can make you hyper.Unless you
have some pancreas problem .Sugar is just a quick source of energy,if it burns fast and you dont get enough of oxygen say by staying at home for most of the day then you can become dizzy.
But it does not contain caffeine.I know that body- builders especially go through a training in which they deplete their bodies of sugar for 2 weeks and they achieve the so- called state of ketosis, which causes a greater accumulation of fast energy sources in their muscle cells. After that the muscle has
a greater mass .But this on the other hand might lead to cardiac hypertrophy in someone who has an enlarged heart muscle ...........

Now I am confused, and have to do some searching for answers. My eye doctor told me to give up chocolate cause of the caffine. Caffine raises eye pressure to raise. I eat way more then the average person in the USA. It is nothing for me to have 3 double reeses cups and serveal hersery bars, before lunch.
I give up my caffine tea :-( sure was hard to go with out.
So that is why the increase in candy for a short time. I am now drinking decafe tea. (about 48 ozs a day) and trying to do just one reeses a day.
Any leads to web sites to help me understand would be apprecated.
Sincerely,
Buzz
Chocolate itself does not have caffeing Buzz.........
Of course there are types of candies that have caffeine
and even alkohol added. Their labels usualy say
"contains caffeine" or "contains alkohol".Besides, chocolate
is an intermediate~~ if not a direct source of sugar which
is given to patients as (GLUCOSE)by IV 's if they have cardiac or other hospital related emergencies. So that they get quick fuel.

Chocalate has caffeine, If you can just eat a small piece your be fine. but a whole Hersry bar will set your heart racing.

Hi there,
I having asthma have learned what it can do to the body. You have to get the asthma under control. You should be on a daily med of some kind with a quick releif inhaler. When your body does not get all the oxgen it needs, it will effect the heart. Also the meds can make the heart beat faster. I know, darn if you do and darn if you don;t... But do get control. Also a good tummy med might help too. You can't always tell when you have GERD. (to much acid in tummy). You don't have to burp, or burn to have it. But GERD will make the asthma worse,, also GERD can make the heart beat fast too. There is a nerve on the heart (vagus) that can be effected by it. Check into a good asthma web site, where there is nurses to answer your questions and keep track of it daily.
Sincelerly,
Buzz

PS. No cafeine and chocolate
Dear Pedro,
I don't find anything alarming from what you report on the physical exam and echo results. These all sound within normal limits. I would probably first focus on treating the asthma and then pursue heart testing only if you continue to have symptoms in spite of good treatment of the asthma.
