Verapamil linked to vision problems

I have been on Verapamil for years with no apparent problems, but recently heard it can cause dry eye and cataract. My eyes have been getting bad for quite some time and have been followed by an opthamologist who never said the verapamil could be the culprit. Now I have a cataract, tons of floaters, and other problems. Anyone else experience this and if so what do you suggest?

Interesting. Do other CCB's affect the eyes as well? I use Diltiazem and recently was told that I'm developing cataracts. Could be coincidental because of my age (59) but most people I know do the whole cataract thing in their late 70's. This is not an activity where I want to be first.  :-o

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Verapamil is known to cause problems with vision. But it may not be the causal factor for cataract, as studies are on to prevent the occurrence of cataract with verapamil.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
