What is apical septal hypokinesis?

Hypokinesis means decreased mobility of the walls of the heart.
As a result of it, the pumping force of the heart may be decreased resulting in lower ejection fraction EF. 40% is below the normal range of 55-70%.

The most common cause for hypokinesis is ischemia or previous heart attack in that region of the heart.
