I have for the past 1 1/2 years had a WBC that has been elevated (most recent 13.2), I feel fine though. In the past it had been assoc w/ cat scratch, infection, etc always treated w/ antibiotics. I was not happy about the drs explaination and wanted to find out the reason it was elevated or at least investigate further. I was sent for blood work and the results were; wbc 13.2, lym 4.9 mid 1.8, gran 6.5, rbc 4.61, hgb 11.5, hct 38.1, mcv 82.6, mch 24.9, mchc 30.2, rdw 15.3, plt 368, mpv 9.5, leukocyte alkaline phoe score 77, ferritin 25 and c-reactive protein 10.0, The doctor told me to take iron tablets as I am anemic. I am concerned at the CRP (that is an indicator of heart disease?) and still the WBC. My dad and his mother both had heart disease (his mother lived into her 90s though and he is still alive, in his 70s, he has a defribilator attached to his heart, several HA and a stroke, he is doing well with his medication) my mom recently had a stint inserted for a blockage. The Dr does check my cholesterol (always good), blood pressure (has been high lately as I am so nervous) and has done cardiograms which have always been normal. What else should I do?
I am 33, I feel good, I could stand to lose 45lbs
I have had lupus test come back negative.
Thank you for your time, sorry to be so long.
