heart bypass surgery discomfort

My husband recently (labor day) had a successful quadruple by pass surgery. He experienced miniumal discomfort upon his return home, with successful healing of the incision. About a month ago he began experiencing pain on his right front side that increases during the day and causes him much discomfort. He has returned to both the surgeon and cardiologist and had 3 xrays and they continue to tell him to wait. About three weeks ago we noticed a redness spot around the incision (which is completely healed) and now yesterday another red spot on his right chest side. To touch is very painful on this latest site. These spots seem to fade somewhat during his sleep and become more red as the day progresses. Is it possible for a wire to be poking him and yet not showing up on xrays? Does someone have a suggestion as to what we should do? This is causing him a lot of pain. (No fever or any other symptoms)

Are they offering up any possible reasons?  If not, seek a second opinion.  That sounds unpleasant.

Hmm.. Sounds new to me. If its causing him alot of pain and your doctors are not being helpful, ide take him to a new doctor or an ER so he gets the attention he deserves. No patient in pain should be told just to wait with no explanation.
