heart diease?

i had have a heart cath. done on tuesday for blockage, once they went into my heart they found no blockage. i still have shortness of breath,heart races most of the time, i think they call taht tack cardio. i have high blood pressure and high cholesterol. i'm on all kind of med.vytorin, asprin, terorim,benicar, verapaml, plavix and nitro for the chest pains, it feel like some one is sitting on my chest when this occour. what is my next steps, i need help, someone please answer my question, thank you

what causes cononary artery spasms, is that something they would see when i had  the cath done. i just don't know, i know once i thake my nitro pills its goes away. what kind of heart trouble do you have.

My echo said that I got inferior infarction, segmental hypokinesis, mild mitral regurgitation and Atrial enlargement.  Angiogram performed - result: No blockage.  All arteries are opened widely.  Mistake in echo??????

You could be having coronary artery spasms with no blockages, or you could be having esophageal spasms which can be very painful I understand.  Was your heart enlarged?  Was your pulmonary pressure normal?  Maybe you  need to see a pulmonologist for the shortness of breath as maybe you have COPD.  Do you smoke?  I wish I could help more.

What tests have you had prior to the cath? What tests they do next depend a lot on what they've done already. Have you had a stress EKG or nuclear scan that showed ischemia, that your heart muscle isn't getting enough oxygen? Does your chest pain happen from exercise or emotional stress, or only at rest, or both? Does nitro relieve it? Angiography can't see the tiniest capillaries that feed the heart and it could be that you have Syndrome X which cardiologists believe to be microvascular narrowing or spasm. I'm not a doctor but my understanding is that they usually diagnose that by excluding everything else first (incl. coronary artery blockage, spasm), but only if you have proven ischemia.

BTW congratulations on having no blockage! I wish I knew that for sure about myself, but my current doctor won't even order a cath because he hasn't seen proof yet that I have ischemia.

I have similar symtoms--also no blockages on my heart cath. I am interested in what others have to say. I hope we both can find answers. because it's my understanding the heart cath is the final say in whether it's heart-related pains or not.

Also, you don't mention your age or sex. Have you considered gallbladder or stomach problems--or even menopause?
