Sometimes a stimulant can be deterimental to a heart condition such as cause arrhythmia. One can read alcohol is a stimulant and a depressant....it is first a stimulant and then a depressent from my understanding.  The few drinks shouldn't have any effect on heart muscle, and if there is a problem it would be due to the interaction of alcohol with the central nervous system is my humble opinion..

But how about a patient psot MI CAD AWMI. EF in the 30-32 range. Would an intake of 2 drinks per day (120 ml) further worsen the cardiac function?

Alcohol can damage heart muscle and cause cardiomyopathy.  Cardiomyopathy is heart condition usually an enlargement of the walls and/or chamber size. This condition can effect the hearts ability to forcefully contract (pump) and or reduce the filling of an adequate blood supply to meet the system's demand.

Ventricular tachycardia is usually related to damage to the heart muscle from a previous heart attack or disease of the heart muscle (cardiomyopathy).

Hope this helps, and if you have any further questions or comments you are welcome to respond.  Take cae,

Ken
