I am 55 now. I had a dental infection from age 39 to 41, diagnosed with possible myocarditis at the time and told it was caused by a virus. Today, my cardiologist sees some heart damage. For me, it caused a significant loss of stamina for everyday tasks, getting worse a bit each year. I was a marathon runner at the time of the infection, which probably didn't help me. I do absolutely no aerobic exercise now. I'm in a uncomfortable position, because the damage doesn't seem that severe, I appear normal, yet each day I hit a "wall." It is extremely limiting and embarrasing. For further info, please see "Tricky Heart May Cause Chronic Fatigue" at WebMD by Daniel J. DeNoon
