good diagnosis, Ed :)
for some, if a person's HR gets especially low (say, from a BB), then BP can rise to compensate... (the rate x pressure constant again)
I was in a simular situation ...became very light headed...went to emergency room...they found my pulse was 41 and my BP was 210 over 110. Normally I was 124 over 80.
Interesting that the explanation was I had lost 34 LBS in 2 mo. and because Iwas taking Atenolol the beta blocker med lowered my pulse to 40 and I was lightheaded due to very low pulse rait that did not provide enof blood to head. Dr stopped Atenolol and pulse went to 68 and no further lightheadedness. Distolic is a bit high at 85.
Hope this is of help
Slow bpm is a normal occurrence in some people, but evidently it is not normal for you?!. It can arise from a loss of blood or fluids, vomiting, dehydration, malnutrition or a medication overdose.
