what is diffuse disease?

I am a bit confused as to what diffuse disease is. Could someone please explain it to me in layman's terms? Thank you.

Well, your are very brief. I guess you mean diffuse coronary artery disease?

I guess so.  The cardiologist had said there was evidence of this in my husband's heart.  Is it merely plaque in the artery?
Yes, when there is diffuse disease, it means that there is evidence of plaque in the arteries, spread over larger areas and not concentrated on a few locations.
As long as the plaque does not block the arteries for more than a certain percentage, your husband will be fine and be without symptoms.
It might be wise for him, in order to prevent the plaque from getting worse, to adapt his lifestyle a bit and take medication to lower cholesterol, but if that is necessary, his cardiologist will certainly tell him.

Thank you.  Yes, he had his cholesterol medication adjusted to a higher dosage.  I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question.  Have a great afternoon/evening!
