Hi, good to read that you follow your doctor's advice. That keep your heart in good condition, it is paramount that once in a while it has to work harder than at rest. That is why your doctor advised you to walk half an hour per day.
If you run slowly instead of walking, your heart will have to work a bit harder.

I do not know how much heart damage you got a year ago, but normally there is no real limit of what you are allowed to do after a heart attack. You just need to accept that your heart's capability will be (a lot or a little) lower than before.
It seems to me that it is safe to do some running, as long as you keep listen to your body and don't overdo it.

Why do you feel like running? I am a bit older than you and don't do that anymore because of damage to my joints. But if I walk as fast as I can on a level road my pulse goes up to 122. Depending on the slope I can get my heart rate up to 136- 146. What more do you need?
