stress test and echo

What it is was, i`m a 39 year old male I had my stress test and echo yesterday and i`m crapping myself about the results, the positives i`m taking from it are there was no increase in chest pain, i didnt collapse,  there werent any ecg changes from the treadmill, pulse was nice and regular throughout and no contrast needed for the images from the echo, the negatives BP was sky high, was very tachy and was out of breath (i am after all unfit lol). The wait for the results is gonna kill me, i`m dreading hearing the phone go incase its the cardiologist telling me to get to hospital! what does anyone think please?

Have a family history of heart disease, my dad had a triple bypass and my mum has just had a quadruple bypass, i hve been under a lot of stress and i`m hoping thats whats causing the chest pain, but i dunno! thank you in advance.

cheers for the reply, i know i`m a worry wort but theres no accounting for ow the brain works hehe. Unfortunatly i do smoke, but am looking to quit when im reletively stress free, i do try and eat healthy but that isnt always possible due to my job (NHS and shift work in a&e), my cholestorol levels are a little up but nothing too worrying, they did stop the test after they said how was i doing and replied my legs a killing me and was breathless, i am a little overweight tho.

Believe me if they saw something life threatening, they would have said "ask someone to bring in some things, you're staying". If they didn't suddenly stop the test and seem concerned, then I doubt if anything serious was discovered. To be honest, with your age, I would think if you are showing any signs of disease, you will be catching it early. You say there is a family history, but you do know fitness is one of the key things for a healthy heart and normal blood pressure? Are you eating healthy? don't smoke? how is your blood cholesterol level?
Stress does cause a lot of problems if prolonged but you can lower the risks considerably with the above suggestions.
