I suffered with skipping heart beats at the age of 13yrs that gave me many anxious moments, eventhough doctors infd that all was well with heart. With time it disappeared without specific treatment. These skipping beats reappeared in few years for no known condition and gave me anxious moment even after doctor's advise that all was ok with heart. Last time it happened to me 3yrs ago (after gap of many years) and ECG showed normal. I was told that it was due to food pipe irritation that transferred the shock to artery giving feeling that it is related to heart. I was prescribed Nexium with antacid and this helped me get the normalacy. This time i got more severe skipping (appearing 10-12 such beats/min). This happened at the end of day and can be related to empty stomach as during whole day i took 3-4 cups of tea and little food. I could see bloating in stomach (and was told that it can happen due to empty stomach). The skipping rate made me anxious. The GP advised me to take 2glass fuls of water with 1/4 teaspoon salt and 2 Teaspoons of sugar with lfew drops of lime. Also he suggested to take some food. It helped and i could see normal beat again. However in the morning i foud the skipping again, As precaution i took fiber biscuit with fruit juice followed up with yoghurt with sugar (lo fat) after gap of an hour. This is to avoid empty stomach. Also i took 2tabs of disflatyl + 20mg Nexium (as it worked for me 3yrs ago). I did not take usual 2cups of tea. As i am writing to you. While i got disturbed between 7am until 12.30noon, i find much relief at 1pm hopefully as a result of above. I hope that this relief will sustain. Regardless whatever, i plan to see GP in the evening.

Hello...
Ectopic heartbeats are an arrhythmia involving small variations in an otherwise normal heartbeat. In many cases, they may occur without obvious cause and be benign.
Other times, however, they are associated with electrolyte abnormalities in the blood which should be corrected. They can also be associated with ischemia, or local reduction in blood supply to the heart. In addition, ectopic beats may be caused or aggravated by excessive smoking, alcohol consumption, caffeine and certain medications,
The majority of extra heartbeats are PAC’s (premature atrial contractions), which are almost always benign.
Treatment
Often ectopic heartbeats do not require treatment. The condition is treated if symptoms are severe or if extra beats are very frequent. Sometimes treatment is with Beta blockers which could then leave you dealing with medication side effects.
If you feel palpitations that are persistent or are accompanied by chest pain or other symptoms you should return to your physician.
It looks like you were given the proper tests. Echo revealed a healthy heart, EKG was normal, and all your Electrolytes showed normal values. The only thing that you didn't have done was a holter test (24-48 hr) monitoring of your heart's electrical avtivity. This would probably confirm the initial diagnosis of benign PAC's or PVC's.
I hope that you are able to resolve this:)
