Heart Rate Question

My heart rate has been high and dr has been trying me on differnt meds to bring it down the last med was tiazac,,,,i stopped it on thursday last week,,,since then my heartrate has gone from the 70s to 100s but mostly staying in the 80s,and my blood pressure is fine im wondering would i need to still be on a medicine if my heart rate stays in the 80s, my dr gave me coreg to try because the tiazac made me so dizzy but since going off the tiazac things have calmed down,the nurse said if i went on tiazac it would stablize things but i dont want to take it when things are low,,,will i harm my self by just letting my heartrate do its own thing .I hate to have to be on a med if i dont need it aand  im still feeling dizzy any advice

HALF HOUR AGO 3'45 AM I GOT PAIN IN MY LEFT CHEST AREA....AM ON TIAZAC XC....180 MG....WHICH I CHEWED TWO 81 MG ASPIRIN LIKE I HV BEEN INSTRUCTED...AND THEN TEN MINUTES LATER I SPRAYED NITRO ON TONGUE....AT 4 AM I STARTED GETTING DIZZY....NEVER HAS HAPPENED BEFORE....CUD IT BE CUS I TOOK TOO CLOSE TO HEART PILL....ALSO HEART WENT TO 108.....NOW IT IS 4;10AM....DIZZINESS HAS SUBSIDED SOME AND HR IS ABOUT 94 ..... HAD TWO HART ATTACKS MARCH 11/12....HAD TWO STENTS PUT IN END MARVCH...WHEN PUTTING OTHER TWO APRIL 26TH/12 HAD HEART ATTACK WITH LST ONE AS IT WAS 1005 BLOCKED...AM 73....AND SMOKE 3 CIGS IN A DAY......

I'm not familiar with either of your meds, but can say that I use Metoprolo ER and do get some heart rate slow down with few side effects.  You didn't give your age, but I'd suggest you try to bet you HR down to the low 80s if possible.  

Do you feel dizzy all the time, or just when you make a sudden change in activity, such as getting up from a seated position?  If the latter, just get up slowly, and you may find you no longer get dizzy.
