Is metoprolol tartate, 25mg a medication that can be cut in half?

Was put on this for high bp and to lower heartrate, heartrate is still only 69, when time to take 2nd dose, at night, so dont want to to drop too low, so wondering if its a medicine that can be cut in half?

If the pills have a break line in the middle, they can be cut in half.
Remember that if you take only half the prescribed dose, the effect on your bp will also be lessened. In my opinion, 69 is not such a low heart rate that it requires medication change.

Anyway, it is best to contact the doctor that prescribed the medication to discuss your plans.
