After having a catheter ablation. . .
Can having an catheter ablation alter your metabolism? What are the effects on a metabolic level on the body after having this procedure? A year ago I had a catheter ablation due to SVT, and since then I feel great. I am a fitness instructor and even while eating well, and vigourous exercise I have been gaining weight. The only factor I can attribute this to would be my surgery. Could this be? Thanks for any help and insight.
I might also add that I feel awesome otherwise! I have not had a single episode of SVT since my surgery.

I think the anesthesia can do funny things ... since i had my ablation 2 Months ago, i'm having zits all over my body, which i never had before...and i don't sleep that much that i used to.... so it can be from that. But you should go to get your blood checked. Maybe u r having problems with your thyroid...which i had couple of years ago,and i had weight problems. Are you on any medication?
