Anxiety? A-fib? Help!

Im a 25 year old male 120 pounds I'm fairly active I'm a carpenter/light construction worker. I eat fairly healthy i try to avoid junk. Since 2013 i've had heart flutters/flip flops where i feel it in my chest and followed by a headrush, And ever now and than while I'm falling asleep i get a skipped beat followed by a THUMP, this can last for minutes through the night or even until i fall asleep. now all these episodes that I've explained happen very infrequently i can go months without having them to having a bad month where within that month i have up to 3 episodes within the month on different days. I used to have panic attacks when i was younger but I've since than learned to control myself and yes i do have light anxiety but mostly heart anxiety I'm always thinking about it ever since my first episode in 2013. I've since gotten blood tests for everything where everything came back fine, I've gotten 3 EKGs thanks to hospital visits where heart attack was ruled out, Ive had an ECG done and my heart looks fine, my resting BPM is 40 and during exercise 120-140. Ive had a holter and nothing was found. I do not get dizzy fatigued tired or short of breath either when i have these episodes. My cardio has told me that I'm healthy and not to worry about it too much unless it gets worse and it hasn't necessarily gotten worse except those on and off months but the other night i went to the ER because of what happened which was a first, I was relaxed laying down (when they happen the most by the way) watching a comedian not anxious or panicking at all and all of a sudden flip flop flutter chest sensation head rush, i brushed it off "must be the monthly episode" even though i had gotten one the night before. let me continue watching the comedian, boom it happens again now I'm like whah what the hell relax i get up walk around a little drink some water lay back down boom happens again get up lay back down happened again each time it lasted less than a minute every 10 minutes into laying down. So i go to ER everything okay of course it doesn't happen there. Went to cardio about it he hotter monitored me nothing was found might go to an event monitor now but he still says nothing to worry about now my question is. Is it scarring my heart? is it anxiety even though I'm usually laying down and relaxed? is it fib pac pacs? benign? i know i got my cardio but id like to hear from some people!

Hi - I used to have palpitations like you describe when I was young.  Tests always came back ok.  Later in my 30s I had palpitations that would not stop - several times a minute and not letting up.  First I thought to move around, did some light housework, etc, didn't make a difference.  So then I thought to lay down.  While I was laying down I felt like I was going to pass out (more than a headrush).  I jumped out of bed and put my head down (natural reflex I guess).  I didn't pass out, but I knew I had to get to the ER.  When they hooked me up they could see I had something abnormal going on and they admitted me.  Eventually I saw an electrophysiologist and an attack of feeling like passing out happened right in front of him.  My pulse jumped up to over 300 BPM, then went back to normal.  This kept happening to me and scared the crap out of me.  Nothing they gave me made it stop - just slowed it a bit.  I was diagnosed with VT and implanted with a defibrillator.

Later, my daughter began complaining about similar feelings as you describe while sitting in class.  Same thing, all tests came back ok.  Even with my history they were sure she did not have a heart issue.  The tips were - drink plenty of fluid every day, take magnesium supplement - and my advice, if you drink alcohol/caffeine - don't.

In my opinion - no, palpitations do not scar your heart.  Scarring happens with heart attack.
