My friend whom is a paramedic said prolonged qt is not serious and nothing to be concerned with, there is no need for a cardiologist for that
thanks, thats good to know- they can be pretty inconclusive.
I should also say that I had a 24 hr ECG done 2 years ago which picked up nothing significant so I don't know why this supposedly simpler baseline ECG has picked up a slight prolonged QTc..
People get variations in EKGs all the time. There was someone who was on here recently that had 3 EKGs in several days on different machines and the findings were all different.
EKGs are almost always a gateway for more definitive look to see if there's something.
Sorry I can't set your mind at ease. You need to get more tests done to figure it out.
thanks for getting back.
I know, i'm sure there are other explanations for the PVC's, but i've never had an ECG thats come back abnormal, just wondering if you know if 'borderline prolonged qtc's' are anything to worry about? Thats the thing thats getting to me- if its just a precaution then I'm ok with that.
There are lots of other explanations for the PVCs.
They thought mine were related to something called ARVD. I had all these risk factors for it. I had to have a cardiac MRI to rule it in/out. I was very scared. Turns out I didn't have it. That's when we all gave up trying to find an answer and I just moved on.
best advice I can give is stick with the appointment and see what they say. You're going to have to walk through the process to rule things in/out.
