Are heart palpitations a coronavirus symptom?

I have spring time allergies. I also drink 2-5 cups of coffee a day for years. For the first time in my life I've been having palpitations all day long. I'll count 10-12 heart beats then a skipped beat will occur. Maybe a short period or normal beats will occur. Then the palpitations return. Is this just too much caffeine finally adding up? Is it a virus symptom?

Sorry for late reply on my end.

As you may have established already; palpitations are not a specific symptom of Covid-19.

However they can be exacerbated by the disease.

Fever (temp of 100.4 or higher measured by a thermometer) is a symptom which almost all symptomatic Covid patients experience at least once.

Your palpitations are likely unrelated and you should be evaluated by a cardiologist when things open up.

Fainting is a key symptom of palpitations which are an emergency.
