It takes alot of energy to digest large meals.Better to eat light and eat right.Too much rice in one sitting turns those carbs into sugar spikes. Eating in moderation ands lots of walking does wonder for stress. Staying at home and laying around  makes it worse.

First: Don't start thinking worst case scenarios, especially without any input. Think positive and relax. It's very important.

I feel so bad for what you're going through, I can relate in more than one way. But I have GOOD NEWS for you (hopefully).

I get palpitations in much the same way you do. After a big meal, while relaxing and reclining. Obviously at your first chance get to a Doctor for an EKG and whatever else they recommend. But in the mean time just know that there is a good chance those are harmless. I won't go into detail why I say this but it is a definite possibility.

The 2nd way I can relate is that I work on ships (possibly you do as well) and this will be my first trip to the middle of the ocean, knowing I have some heart issues and that is a bit scary.Being far from home and busy at work is a tough time to have to deal with medical issues. But it's part of our jobs. I have on more than one occasion snuck away to see a doctor while in port.

Keep alcohol to a minimum, experiment with eating a lighter meal (you can just eat a bit more later (save some of the food) see if that helps.

Don't worry, you're very young and believe me that matters.

Good luck

Hi there, it sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now.  At 24 there's unlikely to be anything serious going on with your heart but of course the only way to know for sure is to check with a doctor.  I'm not an expert.  But from what you've said it sounds like the heart skipping after eating, changes in posture, etc, which are often benign.  But please remember I cannot say for sure.

How are you feeling at the moment?  You mentioned feeling alone and that you were away from home.  I imagine you might be under a lot of stress right now and this is making you more aware of your heart (and making the heart a bit more irritable).  Hope you can find ways to feel better, lighten the load you have at the moment and find ways to feel more connected to others where you are.  Best wishes  :-)
