Atenolol and PVCs.

I've been diagnosed with benign PVCs. I had anywhere from 0 a day to 550 a day. For a while it was terrible and I'd have 400+ everyday for about a week. My doctor prescribed me Atenolol 25mg and I take about half a pill (a little more.) every 6-8 hours . It knocked them out cold!! I was so surprised by how drastically it dropped my pvcs. Now I never feel more than 5 a day. If any at all. Is this a coincidence or does atenolol really help? It's been a month and the results have been constant. Since atenolol works for me does that mean I'll always be able to control the pvcs or will the atenolol eventually not work? What then? I'm just worried I'll have to go back to living like I was ... My mom said atenolol has helped her for years. I also have a friend who atenolol helped her a lot too.
